Fishing

Although small, the Little Styx River was once described as Australia’s most picturesque trout stream. It plunges through remote canyons, shaded by towering snow gums. The cabins provide an excellent base from which to search the wilder gorges for the elusive trout.

Either spin or fly-fishing is permitted down-stream of the cabins. Worm fishing is not permitted. It is strongly advised that guests seek permission to fish other rivers in the area. Some rivers will be signposted if fishing is not permitted.

Guided fly-fishing trips can be organised at Moffat Falls, these are private streams that offer the best population of rainbow trout.
